Not a line from your favourite soap… it’s back to the classics for our seasonal Spring Gin Cocktails.

The sap is rising, the nights are drawing out, and we’ve reached for the classic cocktail tomes for inspiration for our latest seasonal cocktail list.  In the forward to the Savoy Cocktail book it states:

“There are few people in the world who can match his (Harry Craddock) vast knowledge of liquids of all kinds and how to mix them, and of how to create new cocktails for all great or state occasions… if anything has been omitted it is in all probably not worth including. At the same time, a few blank pages have been left at the end of the list of cocktails for addition of any new cocktails that may be invented in the future.”

2016 spring cocktailsWhilst we’re a humble London gin bar in the gritty center of Soho, and we don’t want to presume too much we believe we have something to add to these pages, and so our theme is classics with a twist. You will find our takes on the stalwarts – Gimlet, Collins, Daisy, Ricky, Cup, Smash and Fizz.

We have a fantastic St Clements fizz with Fords gin packed with muddled citrus. Our Woodland Collins uses Burleighs gin with Dandelion leaf, honey and ginger. Our take on the Ricky features Colombo gin, fresh coriander and galangal root. For something deeper and richer our fantastic Tobacco Genever Old Fashioned hit’s the nightcap spot nicely. Our house cup looks to its 18th century roots and uses fresh tea, and our smash is filled with love, or lovage to be precise.

We take our lead from the King of Cocktail shakers (Harry Craddock)… “these cocktails are dedicated to you”.
